This have been my laptop for a year. I still haven’t tried some things, but it works pretty well with Ubuntu 5.10. The following things are automatically detected and working perfectly:

• Wifi Ok (like all centrinos, i think it does not allow monitoring mode by now, anyway, this is not necesary, if you are not an spy )
• 2D Ok
• Ethernet Ok
• Sound Ok
• ACPI, battery an power are detected perfectly. Hybernates OK. (Suspend fails) Have a look to toshset and toshutils packages.

The few problems I have detected are the same as those described for Toshiba Satellite A50-543 . I think this laptop is the same, if it is not, it is really similar.

• Modem is not recognized, i don’t know if i’ll try it anytime.

It was difficult for me to know which components form part of this laptop, and so check linux support. I put here the lspci result, if you want to check yourself.
